The Senior Pitch Manager will be a key member of the client services team. You will work closely with the Director of Strategic Growth and other members within the department, as well as liaising with Heads of Department across the agency, to help facilitate a level of executional excellence. This will include leading, co-leading or supporting as required on proposal preparation for key tenders and pitches, ensuring high quality, compelling bids are submitted.
You will be required to understand client briefs, objectives and vision to help develop a strategic and tactical response to each brief. You will play an important role in supporting the management of strategy and the tender process from inception to completion. A core objective of the department's role is to ensure continuous growth through maintaining relationships with clients across corporate and public sector organisations, positioning us as the events agency of choice for new projects and tender opportunities. This role will also be required to represent the agency at industry events and support teams to provide exceptional customer service across client acquisition and account delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Pitch lead, co-lead or support for key tenders and pitches including fully dissecting the client brief, objectives and vision, then translating this into tender-winning responses.
- Defining the core roles required to support the tender.
- Defining the tender deliverables.
- Identifying areas in client briefs which require further information to issue questions directly to the client to facilitate additional clarity to bolster our response.
- Setting timelines.
- Collaborating with and coordinating the key contributors allocated to a tender.
- Setting a pitch budget and managing this to avoid overspend.
- Leading resourcing, kickoff and pitch meetings to support the pitch process.
- Adopting a senior role within the department to support in the delivery of tender winning responses.
- Taking a strategic approach to leading responses, confident in challenging solutions and meeting short deadlines.
- Supporting in the development of our growth strategy, to ensure we keep current, including insight tools, methodologies, keeping on top of B2B strategy and thinking.
- Development of presentations to support client pitch meetings and attendance at these meetings to present our solution.
- Client research to support responses including previous events and vision, values, and objectives.
- Vetting opportunities, making recommendations on suitability.
- Supporting in the development of team processes to deliver efficiencies and increased productivity.
- Encouraging and mentoring junior team members to learn and grow.
Relationships & Client Servicing:
- Working closely with department leads to implement the department strategy and ensure growth targets are met.
- Maintaining and building relationships with key stakeholders within government and public sector organisations.
- Promoting the agency profile within the client organisation, connecting clients with the depth of expertise and experience available within the team.
- Identifying commercial opportunities through discussion with prospective clients.
- Presentation of decks outlining agency credentials, services and case studies.
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times and adopting a tailored approach to each client, anticipating and exceeding expectations.
- Promoting sharing of innovation, efficiencies and improvements.
- Preparing high-level reports for the senior leadership team.
- Attending team meetings as required.
