What you’ll be doing
As a Meter Reader, you’ll be the face of Castle Water, playing a vital role in:
- Conducting routine and special meter readings across an allocated region in the southeast of England.
- Investigating, reporting and escalating unique cases to support colleagues in resolving customer issues and health and safety risks.
- Using your skills to capture and verify data via the mobile app which includes meter read, location and occupier details to ensure bills are accurate and reflect real usage.
- Working autonomously and as part of a team to collectively achieve monthly targets.
- Occasionally assisting in supply reconnections and other field tasks.
- Delivering exceptional customer service at every interaction.
- Attend monthly team meetings at our Brentford office for regular updates and training.
You’ll work both independently and as part of a dynamic, supportive team led by an experienced Team Leader.
What you’ll bring to the role
- A full UK manual driving licence (maximum 3 points).
- The physical ability to walk 5+ miles daily, climb stairs, and handle heavy equipment.
- Good geographical knowledge of the Thames Valley region and able to use and follow GPS/satnav platforms.
- A professional attitude, strong communication skills, and a knack for problem-solving.
- IT competency (especially Microsoft Office) and the ability to use GPS/satnav tools.
- You have easy access to Central, North or South East London, and we may also expect you to cover other regions in the Thames Valley area when required.
- Be able to attend monthly team meetings at our Brentford Office.
- Optional: Experience in cash collections or debt resolution is a bonus!
