Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Senior to take ownership of audit cycles and assist team members. The successful applicant will have a minimum of two years Audit experience in a client facing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to further enhance their career within a well established local Accountancy Practice.

Duties include:

  • Assist with audit fieldwork, including data verification, confirming balances, and creating audit files.
  • Review financial statements, trial balances, and source documents for accuracy.
  • Prepare draft audit reports, findings, and recommendations for senior review.
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to gather information and resolve issues.
  • Monitor implemented audit recommendations to ensure continued effectiveness.
  • Support client acceptance processes and set up new audit engagements.
  • Preparing high-quality audit work papers, planning documents, and draft statutory accounts for senior review.
  • Performing testing, analytical reviews, and reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Recognizing potential audit risks or unusual financial procedures and escalating them to managers.
  • Providing guidance and performance feedback to junior audit staff or interns.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Hold, or be working towards, a professional accounting qualification (CA/ACCA, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of International Standards on Auditing (ISA), UK GAAP, or IFRS.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Audit Software and Financial Software Systems.
  • Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
