Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Senior to take ownership of audit cycles and assist team members. The successful applicant will have a minimum of two years Audit experience in a client facing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to further enhance their career within a well established local Accountancy Practice.
Duties include:
- Assist with audit fieldwork, including data verification, confirming balances, and creating audit files.
- Review financial statements, trial balances, and source documents for accuracy.
- Prepare draft audit reports, findings, and recommendations for senior review.
- Liaise with clients and internal teams to gather information and resolve issues.
- Monitor implemented audit recommendations to ensure continued effectiveness.
- Support client acceptance processes and set up new audit engagements.
- Preparing high-quality audit work papers, planning documents, and draft statutory accounts for senior review.
- Performing testing, analytical reviews, and reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Recognizing potential audit risks or unusual financial procedures and escalating them to managers.
- Providing guidance and performance feedback to junior audit staff or interns.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Hold, or be working towards, a professional accounting qualification (CA/ACCA, or similar).
- Strong understanding of International Standards on Auditing (ISA), UK GAAP, or IFRS.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Audit Software and Financial Software Systems.
- Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
