Title: Accounts Assistant Type: Temporary (approx. 12 weeks) Hours: 28 hours per week Salary: Β£17.76 per hour Purpose: Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant, initially on a temporary basis for approximately 12 weeks. This role is for four days per week and is based in Invergordon with the option for hybrid working. The purpose of the role is to perform a variety of accounting, financial, and administrative duties to support the Finance Department in fulfilling its responsibilities. Key responsibilities: Support in maintaining the purchase ledger and sales ledger Support the Management Accountant in maintaining the accuracy of finance systems, delivering comprehensive internal and external reporting. Match invoices received to works/purchase orders. Code invoices appropriately, liaising with the requisitioning and goods receipting departments. Ensure invoices are sent for authorisation in accordance with approval and authority limits. Process approved invoices into the finance software accurately and timeously. Process other payables such as direct debits, credit cards, expenses, etc. Raise supplier bankline payments for approval by the appropriate member of the Finance Department. Report any inconsistencies to the Accounts Payable Advisor. Assist with BACS runs, and other tasks usually performed by the Accounts Payable Advisor. Person Specification: Basic book-keeping or similar qualification. Proven ability to be an active member of a team including co-operation with other teams to meet deadlines. Strong IT skills including MS Office and financial software systems. Ability to plan, prioritise and manage your own workload and meet deadlines for the processing of information. Ability to review your own and others work to ensure accuracy to a very high standard. Purchase ledger invoice processing experience. Sales ledger invoice generation and monitoring. Processing information to a high degree of accuracy and detail. Knowledge of payments systems including Cheques, BACS, and Bankline. Use of Microsoft Office especially Excel to analyse and reconcile financial records. Computer literate with an understanding of developing procedures to enhance the work undertaken.
