The purpose of the role is to support the Financial Accountant with monthly accounting processes and with preparations for the year-end and the annual audit. The role is mostly home based with a requirement to travel on occasion for meetings.
Financial Accounting and Annual Accounts
- Support the Financial Accountant with corporate accounting, the preparation of financial accounts and working papers, and the external audit process.
- Create and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the Financial Accounting with month end processes such as calculating and posting prepayments and capitalising assets.
- Calculate and submit project accounting claims to external funders.
- Support the external auditor in their interim fieldwork, providing documentary evidence.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and forecasting as required.
- Maintain the data required for annual carbon reporting.
- Provide support to areas of work including development of data models and data analysis.

Person specification: knowledge, experience and training:
- Must have excellent numerical skills and substantial, proven experience of using excel spreadsheets and manipulating financial data and figures.
- Demonstrable capacity to analyse information and to present the results of that analysis in a clear and accessible manner.
- Demonstrable aptitude and skills to deliver payroll and pensions administration services.
- Must have experience of handling confidential information, and respecting and adhering to that confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentational.
- IT skills - competent user of the standard Microsoft suite of products.
