Our client is seeking a proactive and adaptable Management Accountant to join their finance team based in Inverness, reporting to the Finance Director. This role is ideal for a newly qualified (CIMA) or part-qualified accountant with experience in management accounting, keen to develop their career within a progressive and expanding business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the review of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Review project costs, revenues, and profitability.
- Support variance analysis and commentary for project and departmental performance.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations.
- Assisting with the annual budget process and providing regular updates to financial forecasts.
- Monitoring cash flow and preparing future cashflow forecasts to report to senior management.
- Developing and overseeing financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance and risk management.
- Liaise with auditors and external stakeholders as required.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Part-qualified, fully qualified or qualified by experience Accountant (CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of management accounting principles.
- Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with finance systems.
- Excellent problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of CIS and VAT would be useful.
