Summary:
Our client is seeking an organised and proactive Sales Ledger Supervisor to join their team based in Moray. You will oversee the day-to-day accounts receivable activities, ensuring efficient cash flow management and providing support to a dedicated sales ledger team. This position would suit an experienced sales ledger clerk looking to step into a supervisory role, or an established team leader seeking a stable, structured Monday-to-Friday schedule within an established local employer.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Supervise daily sales ledger operations, manage individual workloads, and mentor team members.
Invoice Generation & Billing: Oversee the creation and distribution of high-volume client invoicing, ensuring complex transport configurations (fuel surcharges, demurrage, waiting times) are accurately compiled.
Systems: Bridge operational logistics data from the Transport Management System into the financial package.
Credit Control & Debt Collection: Manage major client accounts, conduct complex data reconciliations, and handle escalated payment disputes professionally.
Operational Liaison: Coordinate closely with transport planners, dispatchers, and depot managers to rapidly resolve billing queries and cross-reference Proof of Delivery (POD) details.
Person Specification:
Microsoft Office Expertise: Strong, proven competency across the MS Office suite, with good Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Sales Ledger: Robust background in accounts receivable, ledger management, or structured credit control environments.
Software & Systems: Prior exposure to financial software systems. Experience utilising cloud accounting software or logistics enterprise packages is highly advantageous.
Supervisory Potential: Previous experience supervising staff, coordinating workflows, or mentoring junior colleagues is highly preferred.
