Location: Inverness

Our client is looking to appoint an accomplished HR Business Partner to be based near Inverness on a full time basis. This is a varied role that requires high levels of organisational and time management skills, tact and discretion. The purpose of the role is to provide the business with all HR and Training services. Reporting to the Finance & HR Director, this role is responsible for staffing, training, compensation, employee relations, succession planning and benefit administration.

Working closely with senior management or line managers, influencing and steering strategy and strategy implementation, you will tailor and implement policies and procedures to assure most effective utilisation of Human Resources to support the Group and/or Business Unit objectives.

Duties include:

  • Provide an HR advisory service to all internal managers.
  • Development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, promoting Best Practice throughout the company.
  • Provision of interpretation and training for current and forthcoming employment legislation.
  • Provide advice and guidance for all employee relations issues including disciplinary and grievance, long-term sickness absence, retirement and redundancies.
  • Direct administration to provide accurate information for monitoring purposes.
  • Responsible for recruitment and selection activities, providing Best Practice advice for all managers and setting standards.
  • Direct HR staff on site wide headcount requirements or updates.
  • Maintain HR Information Systems on an ongoing basis, and in line with control procedures.
  • Ensure development of other HR System users.
  • Coordinate and direct annual Performance Evaluation and Objective processes, ensuring that deadlines are met and all training requirements are captured and monitored on an ongoing basis.
  • Liaise with departmental managers on a regular basis to counsel on the proper method of handling personnel problems.
  • Report on monthly HR measurement statistics including sickness absence reports, overtime analysis, training hours, headcount and other HR KPIs.
  • Direct implementation of the induction process ensuring all areas of HR induction are covered and reported for all new employees.
  • Ensure review processes are followed for all relevant employees.
  • Compliance with Employment Law and other regulations with regards to Employee Relations.
  • Responsible for SAP HR and Comp & Bens data required by Corporate Function.
  • Ensure HR function is fully compliant with ICS requirements and procedures.
  • Responsibility for HR department liaison/compliance with all internal, financial and quality audits.
  • Provide support for payroll function particularly in respect of starters, leavers and changes to role/salary.

Person Specification:

  • Certificate in Human Resource Practice or further CIPD qualification preferred.
  • Degree in HR or Business related field preferred.
  • Proven experience of operational HR support within a similar environment essential.
  • Knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures and best practice in a variety of Employee Relations topics.
  • Knowledge of UK Labour relations and Employment Law.
  • Ability to use an HR information system including accessing, inputting, and reporting data.
  • Fully IT literate in the Microsoft Office suite, SAP & Q-Pulse systems.
  • The verbal communication skills to communicate with a diverse client group.
  • The written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports.
  • The ability to research, analyse and reason logically and effectively within tight and conflicting timeframes.
  • A good working knowledge of Business Operational requirements, including health, safety, environmental and quality topics.
  • Committed to raising standards and delivering results.
  • Integrity and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written format to all levels.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work as a Team Leader and develop/support direct reports.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with limited supervision.
