Our client currently has an excellent opportunity for an HR Advisor to join their expanding team based in Inverness. This role offers progression and development opportunities for an individual keen to progress a career in HR within a supportive environment.

This is a varied role that requires high levels of organisational and time management skills, tact and discretion. The purpose of the role is to support the HR Manager in providing a range of generalist and project-based HR solutions.

Duties include:

  • Provide a generalist HR advisory service to all internal managers.
  • Overseeing recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training requirements.
  • Assisting with the review, development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, promoting Best Practice throughout the company.
  • Provide first line advice and guidance for all employee relations issues including disciplinary and grievance to line managers.
  • Updating and maintaining accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Maintain HR Information Systems on an ongoing basis, and in line with control procedures.
  • Assist with the implementation of HR software systems.
  • Assist with staff appraisals and performance evaluations, ensuring that deadlines are met and all training requirements are captured and monitored on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensuring compliance with Employment Law and other regulations including GDPR.
  • Carrying out ad hoc HR projects as directed by the HR Manager.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and effectiveness of the HR team by making recommendations and improving efficiency.

Person Specification:

  • Certificate in Human Resource Practice or further CIPD qualification (or working towards).
  • Degree in HR or Business related field preferred.
  • Proven experience of operational HR support.
  • Knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures and best practice in a variety of Employee Relations topics.
  • Ability to use an HR information system including accessing, inputting, and reporting data.
  • Fully IT literate in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Verbal communication skills to communicate with a range of contacts in a tactful manner.
  • Ability to deal with a range of enquiries in a polite, professional manner.
  • Highly motivated and driven to continue with professional development and progress a career within HR.
  • Committed to raising standards and delivering results.
  • Integrity and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with limited supervision.
