Are you an experienced leader with a passion for delivering exceptional client and patient care? Castle Vets, part of IVC Evidensia, has a rare opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Practice Manager to lead our friendly team in Reading. This is a site-based, people-facing leadership role, perfect for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, supporting others to succeed, and making a real difference to both team and client experience. This is a full time and/or part time role, flexible between the hours of 8am - 7pm.
The Role
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the practice
- Lead, manage, and develop the practice team
- Drive financial performance, budgeting, and KPI management
- Ensure compliance with clinical, regulatory, and health & safety standards
- Deliver exceptional client service and patient care
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven management or leadership experience (veterinary or healthcare background desirable but not essential)
- Demonstrates strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
- Is an excellent communicator with the ability to motivate and engage teams

Castle Vets is a well-established, small animal hospital in the centre of Reading with a strong reputation for high clinical standards and compassionate care. We have a very experienced team, with six vets having over 10 years' qualifications as well as our 12 supportive nurses. We foster a collaborative, supportive culture with a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing, while also embracing fresh ideas and innovation.
