Join our dedicated veterinary farm practice and become part of a team that supports farmers, clients, and clinicians every day. We are expanding and looking for enthusiastic non-clinical team members to join our Front of House and Dispensary teams. We have multiple roles available, including:

  • Head Receptionist
  • Receptionist
  • Dispensary Assistant

Role Details:

Location: To be based at our Barnard Castle site - Montalbo Road, Barnard Castle, Co Durham, DL12 8ED, but will also cover our other sites when needed.

Contract: Permanent, part-time, with exact hours for each role to be discussed at interview stage.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, with shifts between 08.00 - 18.00 and a share in the Saturday rota.

Discover Our Practice:

As our Head Receptionist, you will:

  • Lead the reception team and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Be the first point of contact for clients: in person, via email and over the phone.
  • Manage schedules, oversee client communications, and support practice workflows.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service in a busy farm practice environment.

Ideal for someone with previous veterinary or agricultural sector experience, and confident team-leadership skills.

As a Receptionist, you will:

  • Welcome clients and handle incoming calls.
  • Book appointments and assist with administrative tasks.
  • Provide excellent customer service to farmers and clients.
  • Work closely with vets and support staff to keep the practice running smoothly.

Perfect for someone warm, organised, and great with people.

As part of our dispensary team, you will:

  • Prepare and dispense medications under veterinary direction.
  • Manage stock levels and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Support clients with product queries and collection.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail.

Agricultural, pharmaceutical, or previous dispensary experience is beneficial but not essential – full training will be provided.
