The role and what you’ll be doing

We’re looking for a commercially minded Product Proposition Manager to work with the Commercial Director to continue to develop our Property product proposition.

You’ll combine market insight, product expertise and performance analytics to shape products that support business growth, deliver strong customer outcomes and remain aligned with our governance standards. This is an influential role working across Commercial, Treasury, Data, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Project and IT teams, with regular exposure to senior stakeholders.

This role based in our Basingstoke office on a hybrid basis working 4 days in the office and 1 day at home.

Proposition & Product Management

  • Deliver the Property product proposition, including product design, oversight and the development of new products.
  • Monitor existing products, product structures and pricing requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure activity complies with the Bank’s new product, product governance and monitoring policies and standards.

Market Strategy & Commercial Growth

  • Build a strong understanding of the mortgage market, competitive landscape, growth opportunities, innovation, regulatory change and emerging risks.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to diversify revenue and improve margin.

Performance, Pricing & Insight

  • Monitor the performance forecasting and analytics, working closely with Treasury and Data teams.
  • Monitor business and product performance, translating insight into clear actions and recommendations.
  • Provide regular reporting on mortgage pricing and performance to Senior management

Relationships & Collaboration

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with brokers and other key partners.
  • Work effectively across Commercial, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Project and IT teams to turn insight and requirements into deliverable propositions.

What you’ll bring

  • You’ll bring strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and a detailed understanding of the mortgage lending market.
  • You’ll be comfortable combining market intelligence, customer and broker feedback, internal priorities and performance data to shape propositions that deliver measurable business benefit.

Essential

  • Strong business skills and commercial acumen, supported by advanced strategic thinking.
  • A strong understanding of the UK specialist mortgage lending market.
  • Proven product management and/or product development experience, with evidence of business benefit.
  • Experience translating multiple information sources into clear requirements, including market intelligence, customer feedback, broker or retailer feedback and internal needs.
  • Strong proposition development capability and an understanding of the full product lifecycle.
  • The ability to work effectively across commercial, marketing, operations, finance, project and technology teams.
  • Experience working within a regulated credit environment.
  • Effective presentation, communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • High attention to detail and consistently high-quality standards.
