We are looking for a Sous chef to join our kitchen team and add their experience and passion to help drive the food offering in the business. Under a supportive, experienced Head Chef and alongside a kitchen team of 6, you will be instrumental in creating great locally sourced dishes and contribute to a professional and fun working environment. We hope to build upon our already strong reputation for offering quality food, utilising the fantastic produce our local area is able to provide; and know that a strong and skilled kitchen team is key to this.

The Castle Inn is a 16th Century pub with rooms in the beautiful village of Lydford in the Dartmoor National Park. We pride ourselves on serving fantastic food and drink with a strong emphasis on local produce and offering our locals and out of town guests genuine hospitality. We are a very busy pub with 13 bedrooms, a large restaurant, two bars, heated and lit tent and beautiful large beer garden. The pub is located within the Dartmoor National park with hiking, national cycling routes and National Trust and World Heritage sites on the doorstep.

Key requirements for the post:
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen for a minimum of 3 years
  • Ability to manage the kitchen and team in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Keen to train and bring on the team
  • Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Approachable, with a friendly and professional manner
  • High personal standards
  • As Sous chef your rostered hours will include peak shifts including weekends and bank holidays to ensure the smooth & efficient operation of food production.

Pay: £34,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
