The Role

We are looking for a People Advisor & Coordinator to join our People & Talent team in a varied and rewarding role supporting both employees and volunteers across the Estate. You will help support a unique and diverse workforce of:

  • 250 staff (increasing significantly during peak periods such as Christmas)

Working closely with the Head of People, you will provide practical, day-to-day HR support across the full people lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone seeking part-time work with flexibility, while remaining closely connected to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers, staff and volunteers
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activity, including large seasonal campaigns
  • Promote and coordinate volunteer opportunities across the Estate
  • Assist with employee relations, absence management and wellbeing support
  • Support payroll administration and maintain HR systems
  • Contribute to internal communications and employee engagement
  • Help deliver initiatives that support staff and volunteer wellbeing, including mental health awareness

Flexibility & Working Pattern

This role is offered on a 25-hour per week basis, typically worked across five days. We offer flexibility around working hours to support work-life balance, alongside the opportunity to work additional paid hours during peak periods, including the Christmas recruitment and onboarding season and key events throughout the year.

About You

We are looking for someone who is approachable, organised and enjoys supporting people in a busy and varied environment. You will have:

  • Experience in an HR administrative or advisory role
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, flexible approach to work
  • The ability to handle confidential information with discretion

It would also be beneficial if you have:

  • CIPD Level 3 qualification (or are working towards it)
  • A strong interest in wellbeing and inclusive workplace culture
  • Mental Health First Aider training (or willingness to undertake this)
