About the role
We are looking for a Facilities Team Leader to join our Team at Castle Howard. The Facilities Team Leader will lead the day-to-day delivery of facilities services across Castle Howard, ensuring that public, staff and operational areas are clean, safe, presentable and ready for use. The role combines practical work with team supervision, task planning, routine checks and effective coordination with colleagues across the Estate.
Working under the Head of Operations and Leisure, the postholder will provide a clear point of contact for facilities activity, allocate work, respond to changing operational priorities and maintain consistent standards across a busy seven-day visitor attraction.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and allocate the Facilities team's daily work, balancing scheduled duties with reactive requests and changing visitor needs.
- Provide visible, practical leadership, working alongside the team and setting clear standards for conduct, productivity and presentation.
- Coordinate rotas, breaks and task cover within agreed staffing levels, escalating resource gaps to the Head of Operations and Leisure.
- Support the recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of Facilities team members.
- Deliver task instruction and toolbox talks, and confirm that team members understand relevant procedures and risk controls.
About you
- You must have experience of supervising and coordinating facilities, grounds, cleaning and care taking.
- You will also have experience of allocating work and maintaining standards in a busy customer-facing or multi-site environment.
- Experience within a visitor attraction, heritage estate, hospitality or holiday park is also required.
- Practical understanding of workplace health and safety, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
