A well-established and highly reputable organisation within its sector is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and supportive finance team on a permanent, full-time basis in the York area. As the Accounts Assistant, your role will include (but not be limited to):
- Performing daily bank postings and preparing cashflow and balance reports
- Completing weekly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations
- Supporting with budget monitoring and financial reporting
- Assisting with purchase ledger processing, including invoice matching and coding
- Providing support with month-end and year-end reporting
- Assisting the wider finance team during busy periods
To be successful in this Accounts Assistant position, you should ideally have:
- Previous experience in a finance assistant, accounts assistant, or transactional finance role
- Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems
- Confident communication skills and a positive, team-focused approach
- A proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and support process improvements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- AAT level 3 or above is desirable
This position is based in the York area and is easily commutable from York, Boroughbridge, Knaresborough, Thirsk, Wetherby, Tadcaster, Easingwold, Harrogate. The right candidate must be able to drive due to limited public transport access to site. Free onsite parking is available.
