A well-established and reputable business based in the York area is currently seeking a Finance Apprentice to join their finance team on a permanent, full-time basis. This position includes a comprehensive study support package, requiring attendance at college one day per week, with the remaining four days spent on-site working closely with the finance team. Despite the weekly college day, this opportunity is offered with a full-time salary and excellent development potential.

As the Finance Apprentice, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Helping to input and process supplier invoices, staff expenses, payment runs, and purchase orders, supporting the Purchase Ledger team.
- Assisting with the creation of customer invoices and uploading information to online customer portals as part of the Sales Ledger process.
- Supporting credit control tasks by following up on late payments and helping to keep cashflow on track.
- Entering financial information into the company’s systems accurately and keeping records organised and up to date.
- Assisting with regular bank and supplier statement checks, as well as helping with basic month-end finance activities.
- Preparing documents for audits and providing general administrative support to the wider finance team when needed.
To be successful in this finance Apprentice position, you should ideally:
- Be enthusiastic about starting a finance career and committed to studying a professional qualification (e.g., AAT).
- Have strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive attitude.
- Be confident communicating face-to-face across departments, teams, and varying seniority levels.
- Demonstrate ambition, curiosity, and willingness to develop skills across both Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger.
- Possess good excel skills and be open to learning new financial software and systems.
This excellent opportunity is easily commutable from York, Selby, Tadcaster, Wetherby, Harrogate, Malton, Easingwold, Pocklington, and surrounding areas. Please note: Candidates must be able to drive due to limited public transport access to site. Free on-site parking is available.
