We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioural SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in York.

Castle Education is looking to appoint behavioural SEN teaching assistants to support a student with extreme challenging behaviour needs, for a temporary position in local SEN schools in the York area. This role requires patience, problem-solving skills, and a can-do attitude. If this sounds like you, apply now!

Pay: £15 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the teaching team to support students with behavioural difficulties in the classroom.
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students, ensuring their emotional well-being and engagement in learning activities.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions to address challenging behaviours and promote positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized behaviour plans for students.
  • Monitor student progress, record observations, and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Assist in planning and delivering tailored interventions and social skills training to students with behavioural difficulties.
  • Support students during transitions between activities and help them develop independence and self-regulation skills.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents/guardians and other stakeholders to ensure consistent support for students.
