An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established manufacturer based near York. This is a varied role that combines electrical testing and inspection, fault finding, panel wiring and occasional site installation work. You will be joining a small, friendly engineering team where attitude and teamwork are just as important as technical ability. This position has become available due to retirement planning, allowing for a handover with the current Electrician before they leave.
The Role: Working within a manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical testing, inspection and certification of bespoke low voltage telecoms cabinets before they are dispatched to customers. Alongside testing, you will also support the wiring and assembly of electrical components from schematics and wiring schedules, with occasional travel to customer sites to assist with new product installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out inspection, testing and certification of electrical systems
- Produce accurate electrical test certificates and compliance documentation
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults
- Wire electrical components using schematics and wiring diagrams
- Support electrical assembly when required
- Ensure all work complies with BS7671 Wiring Regulations
