A successful and expanding business based in Beverley is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and supportive finance team on a permanent basis. On offer is a salary of up to £32,000, along with excellent benefits including free snacks and drinks, 32 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), and fantastic opportunities for development and progression within the company.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Accurately posting incoming payments to the correct customer accounts on the ledger
  • Reaching out to customers via phone and email to chase overdue balances and resolve any billing issues
  • Setting up new customer accounts and collaborating with internal teams to collect all necessary documentation
  • Conducting credit checks on both new and existing customers and keeping account information up to date
  • Ensuring invoices are generated and sent promptly and correctly to customers
  • Building strong lines of communication with customers to encourage timely payments and maintain key account relationships
  • Handling payment disputes efficiently and working with clients to align payments with agreed terms
  • Flagging any anomalies or issues to management in a timely manner
  • Assisting the finance department with general tasks and occasional ad hoc duties as required

To be successful in this Accounts Assistant role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in a similar finance or accounts role
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
  • Good knowledge of Excel and finance systems (Sage, Xero, or similar)
  • A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving and teamwork
