Senior Commercial Executive (9-Month Fixed-Term Contract)
A well-established and award-winning business is looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Executive to join its Commercial team on a 9-month fixed-term contract.
Offering £15.41 per hour and 30 to 37.5 hours per week, providing flexibility to suit the successful candidate.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Business Intelligence professional who enjoys turning data into meaningful insight.
Working closely with the Commercial Manager, Finance team and wider business, you'll play a key role in analysing commercial performance, supporting pricing decisions and enhancing reporting to drive business growth.
Based at the company's offices in York, this is a hybrid role with two mandatory office days per week.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse sales performance, booking trends and commercial KPIs to provide actionable business insight.
- Produce and present weekly trading reports, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to optimise performance.
- Support pricing and promotional activity through detailed commercial analysis.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and quarterly business reviews alongside the Finance team.
- Monitor performance against budgets, highlighting key trends and opportunities.
- Maintain and continually enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting to meet evolving business requirements.
- Investigate and resolve reporting or data issues, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of commercial data.
- Support colleagues in interpreting commercial reporting and promote best practice in the use of business intelligence.
- Analyse customer demand, booking behaviour and pricing trends to support yield management activities.
- Evaluate pricing strategies and promotional performance, providing recommendations to maximise revenue.
- Respond to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests across the business.
- Support the Commercial Manager with workload planning and deputise where required.
- Present commercial findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data visualisation and commercial performance.
About you
- Previous experience in a Commercial Analyst, Business Intelligence, Commercial Executive or Data Analyst role.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business recommendations.
- Advanced Power BI skills, with experience building, maintaining and improving dashboards and reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working with stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- Confident presenting insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Passionate about continuous improvement and using data to support commercial decision-making.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced commercial environment.
