We are recruiting for a skilled CNC Operator to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer in North Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business investing in its people, machinery and long-term growth, offering stability, progression and a highly competitive shift package once fully trained.
You will initially work a Monday to Thursday days-based training shift before moving onto a highly sought-after 4 on 4 off pattern following successful completion of training. This role would suit candidates with CNC machining experience who enjoy working in a quality-focused manufacturing environment and take pride in producing high-precision components.

Working Hours
- Training Period - Approximately first 6 months: Monday to Thursday 7:00am - 5:30pm
- Post Training - 4 on 4 off Shift: 6:30am - 6:00pm
CNC Operator Responsibilities
- Operating high-speed CNC machinery including milling, drilling and tapping equipment
- Loading raw materials and components onto CNC machines
- Monitoring machine performance and maintaining production quality standards
- Carrying out basic editing of CNC programs and tool offsets
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Conducting quality checks and recording production data accurately
- Replacing tooling and cutters when required
- Supporting continuous production flow and maximising machine uptime
- Maintaining safe working standards across the machine shop
- Supporting general machine shop operations where required
What we are looking for
We would be keen to speak with candidates who have experience as a CNC Operator, CNC Machinist, Machine Operator or CNC Setter Operator within a manufacturing or engineering environment. You should also have:
- Experience operating CNC machinery
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Good understanding of tooling and machining processes
- Reliable approach with strong teamwork skills
- Knowledge of 3-axis or 4-axis machining would be advantageous
- Experience with Renishaw probing would be beneficial
