The Role
As Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for material and product sampling, testing and quality monitoring activities across the site. Working closely with operational teams, you will help maintain high standards of product quality, compliance and traceability while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct product and environmental quality testing, including NIR testing, in line with established schedules
- Collect samples for internal and external analysis on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Arrange the transfer of samples to external laboratories
- Record and report testing results, highlighting any quality concerns promptly
- Produce trend analysis, statistical reporting and quality performance data
- Manage non-conforming products and customer returns, ensuring appropriate recording, segregation and reworking activities
- Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes and support agreed corrective actions
- Complete product traceability exercises for audits and scheduled compliance activities
- Review and improve quality processes, procedures and testing capabilities
- Maintain quality documentation and document control systems
- Support external audits and customer inspections
- Conduct internal quality, housekeeping and compliance audits
- Report audit findings and recommendations to senior management
- Coordinate the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
About You
- A minimum of two years' experience within a quality, laboratory or quality control position
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with external laboratories
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive positive change
Desirable Experience
- Working knowledge of NIR testing techniques
- Knowledge of HACCP principles
- Experience within the feed, animal nutrition or food manufacturing sectors
