We are working in partnership with a well-respected school in York, and across a network of 8 Multi Academy Trusts, offering an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible. This role is Monday to Friday and is ideal for experienced support staff looking to take on more responsibility within the classroom.
The Role
- Support teaching and learning across the school, including delivering lessons, covering classes when required and working closely with teaching staff to support pupil progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons and cover classes in the absence of the teacher
- Support planning and preparation of learning activities
- Work with small groups and on a one-to-one basis
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour
- Support pupils’ academic and social development
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Requirements
- HLTA qualification is essential
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong classroom management skills
- Confident delivering lessons and leading groups
- A proactive and adaptable approach
- Full-time availability, Monday to Friday
- Must be able to drive due to location
