Responsibilities of the Practice Accountant role include:
  • Preparing and reviewing year end accounts for a varied client portfolio
  • Managing client relationships across sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Preparing corporation tax and related compliance work
  • Advising owner managed businesses on day-to-day accounting matters
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of staff where required
  • Working across cloud-based accounting systems and practice software
  • Potential involvement in audit work depending on experience and interest
Requirements of the Practice Accountant role include:
  • Previous experience working within UK accountancy practice
  • ACA or ACCA qualified preferred
  • Strong experience preparing accounts for a varied client base
  • Confident managing client relationships independently
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Commercial and proactive approach to client service
  • Audit exposure beneficial but not essential
