We are working with a nurturing and inclusive nursery setting in Scarborough that is looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated SEND Nursery Assistant to support children with complex SEN needs. This rewarding role involves supporting young children with additional needs, helping them to feel safe, engaged, and supported within the nursery environment. You will work closely with nursery staff to provide tailored support that encourages communication, social interaction, and early development. Responsibilities
- Support children with complex SEN needs on a one to one or small group basis
- Assist with communication, sensory, and emotional needs
- Help create a safe, calm, and engaging nursery environment
- Support children with daily routines and activities
- Work closely with nursery staff, SENCOs, and parents/carers
- Encourage social development, independence, and positive interactions
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs
- A caring, patient, and nurturing approach
- Understanding of complex needs such as autism, non-verbal communication, sensory needs, or challenging behaviour is desirable
- Passion for supporting children within an early years setting
- Relevant childcare or SEND qualifications are beneficial but not essential
