Castle Manufacturing is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Manufacturing Manager to join a well-established and ambitious engineering business based in North Yorkshire. This position offers the chance to play a key role within a busy machine shop environment, contributing directly to operational efficiency, production performance, and continued business growth.
This is an office-based position within the machine shop, responsible for coordinating production activities and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities:- Ordering materials and consumables from both existing and new suppliers
- Creating and allocating job cards
- Managing supplier progression and communication
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
- Production planning and manufacturing time estimation in collaboration with the Production Manager
- Arranging subcontract work during periods of overcapacity
- Managing external finishing processes
- Strong understanding of an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings with sound material knowledge
- Experience within a CNC machining environment is desirable
- Excellent IT skills
- Experience in inspection and quality management
