Responsibilities:
- Fabricate heavy structural steel sections to drawing
- Plate and assemble large steel components of varying thickness
- Carry out MIG / MAG and Flux Core welding, predominantly downhand
- Complete multi run fillet and butt welds on thick plate
- Weld to structural coded standards
- Work accurately from detailed engineering drawings
- Maintain high quality standards within a regulated heavy steel environment
Qualifications:
- Time served or apprentice trained
- Strong in heavy structural steel fabrication
- Experienced in multi run welding on thick section steel
- Previously welded to coded structural standards
- Confident working independently on permanent night shift
