Financial Accountant in North East

Job Description

A successful and growing manufacturing & retail business based in Scarborough is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis offering a competitive salary of up today\’s holiday and hybrid working options. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting cashflow management in a fast-paced environment.

As a Financial Accountant you will :

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies and accounting standards
• Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations investigating and resolving variances promptly
• Take responsibility for cashflow reporting and forecasting to support business operations
• Oversee payroll reconciliations ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines
• Lead and support the AP & AR teams to ensure efficient processing of invoices and payments
• Carry out daily cash postings bank reconciliations and ensure funds are allocated correctly
• Support internal and external audits and drive continuous improvements across finance processes

To be successful in this Financial Accountant role you will ideally have :

• Proven experience within financial accounting ideally within manufacturing or retail
• Strong technical knowledge of payroll reconciliations AP AR and cash management
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage alongside strong Excel skills
• Excellent organisational skills attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Part‑qualified or fully qualified (ACA ACCA CIMA) would be advantageous

This excellent opportunity is easily commutable from Scarborough Bridlington Filey Malton Pickering Whitby Driffield and the surrounding areas. There is on‑site parking available and the role is also accessible by public transport.
