The Mechanical Design Engineer role
- Producing 3D models, detailed engineering drawings and mechanical designs using SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Creating BOMs, routing cards and supporting manufacturing documentation
- Supporting new product development and change management activities
- Conducting design verification, tolerance analysis and risk assessments
- Supporting prototype builds, testing and validation activities
- Working closely with manufacturing teams and subcontractors to ensure design for manufacture best practice
- Providing technical support to customers and internal stakeholders
- Supporting continuous improvement and engineering development projects
- Ensuring compliance with quality, safety and regulatory standards
We would be keen to speak with
- Previous experience within a mechanical design engineering role
- Experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Experience producing technical drawings and engineering documentation
- The ability to work within a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- Experience within aerospace or defence would be beneficial, but this is not essential.
