Are you an experienced Sales Administrator who enjoys keeping customers informed, orders moving and a busy sales team organised?

We’re working with an established North Yorkshire business looking to recruit a

Sales Administrator based in Malton, paying up to £35,000 depending on experience.

This is a full-time, office-based position working Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm , offering the opportunity to take real ownership of the sales administration process within a busy product-based environment.

Working closely with Sales Managers who regularly spend time out of the office visiting customers and dealers, you’ll become a key point of contact and ensure the administration behind each sale runs smoothly from quotation through to delivery.

  • What You’ll Be Doing
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Sales Managers and wider sales team.
  • Prepare and issue accurate customer quotations.
  • Process customer and dealer orders from initial receipt through to completion.
  • Manage and maintain CRM information for the sales team, particularly during busy periods.
  • Liaise directly with customers and dealers, providing order updates and responding to queries.
  • Keep customers informed of expected delivery dates and any changes affecting their orders.
  • Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Logistics and Accounts to keep orders progressing.
  • Maintain accurate customer information and sales orders on internal systems.
  • Monitor outstanding orders and proactively identify potential issues or delays.
  • Support Sales Managers with customer follow-ups when they are away from the office.
  • Handle telephone and email enquiries professionally.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales administration processes and make the team more efficient.

About You

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and understands how effective sales administration supports customer confidence and wider business performance.

Ideally, you’ll have

  • At least three years’ experience within Sales Administration, Sales Support or a similar customer-facing administrative role.
  • Previous experience processing sales orders within a manufacturing, engineering or product-based business.
  • Experience dealing directly with customers, trade customers or dealers.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence managing multiple orders and priorities simultaneously.
  • Good IT skills with experience using CRM, ERP or order-processing systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to chase information internally and externally.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.

Experience within manufacturing and engineering would be particularly beneficial, as would experience coordinating bespoke or made-to-order products between Sales and Production.

The Opportunity
This is an important role within the sales operation and would suit someone who enjoys being relied upon to keep things moving.

You’ll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues, take ownership of the sales administration process and become a valued part of an established North Yorkshire business.
