Are you a people-first leader who believes operational excellence starts with engaged teams?
Castle Employment Solutions is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a well-established and growing food manufacturing business in North Yorkshire to recruit a Production Manager.
Following significant investment in leadership, people and manufacturing capability, the business has created an exciting platform for future growth and is now looking for an exceptional leader to help shape the next phase of its journey.
This role is ideal for a leader who thrives on developing people, strengthening engagement and driving operational performance. Whilst manufacturing expertise is important, this appointment is as much about leadership capability as it is technical experience.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Production Director, you will lead a manufacturing operation of approximately 70 employees, with responsibility for developing leadership capability, strengthening employee engagement and driving operational excellence across the site.
Working closely with colleagues across Operations, Technical, Quality and New Product Development, you will ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standards.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead, motivate and develop production teams to deliver operational excellence.
-
Coach and develop direct reports, building future leadership capability.
-
Drive a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
-
Ensure production plans are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
-
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality and operational performance.
-
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation.
-
Maintain high standards of food safety, quality and health and safety.
-
Work collaboratively with Technical, Quality and Commercial teams.
-
Manage performance, attendance and employee development across the operation.
-
Champion company values and positive leadership behaviours.
About You
You may already be a Production Manager, Factory Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or an experienced operational leader looking for your next challenge.
You will be able to demonstrate:
-
Strong leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
-
A people-first leadership style with a strong coaching approach.
-
Experience developing managers and building high-performing teams.
-
A track record of improving engagement, retention or attendance.
-
Experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
-
The confidence to challenge existing ways of working and drive positive change.
-
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
-
Strong operational and commercial awareness.
Food manufacturing experience is highly desirable. Experience working within BRCGS, SALSA, HACCP or similar quality-led manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who enjoys developing people, building high-performing teams and helping businesses succeed.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a business that genuinely values its people and is committed to investing in growth, innovation and continuous improvement.
You will work alongside a leadership team that is passionate about developing its people and building on the positive progress already achieved, whilst giving you the autonomy and support to make a real impact.
For the right individual, this is an opportunity to influence the future direction of a successful manufacturing operation and become a key member of the leadership team.
If you are a people-focused leader looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing food manufacturing business, we would love to hear from you.
