Are you confident speaking with customers and able to type accurately while holding a conversation? We are recruiting a Customer Service Advisor to join an established manufacturing business just outside Scarborough on a temporary basis for around 4 weeks. This is a fully office-based role where you will speak directly with customers, capture their feedback and make sure their responses and contact information are recorded accurately.
You’ll need to be confident using computers and comfortable working across different systems. Accurate typing is essential, as you’ll need to listen to customers and type their responses accurately while they’re speaking.
As a Customer Service Advisor, you'll be responsible for:
- Making outbound calls to customers to discuss their experience with the business
- Following a structured set of questions while keeping conversations natural and engaging
- Listening carefully and accurately typing responses during each call
- Using a dialler and two different computer systems
- Checking and updating customer contact details, including email addresses and telephone numbers
- Speaking with UK and international business customers
- Maintaining accurate information throughout each conversation
This role could suit someone with previous experience in customer service, call centre, contact centre, telephone-based customer service or administration, although your communication and typing ability will be particularly important.
You'll need:
- Confident and accurate touch-typing skills, including the ability to type while listening
- A good telephone manner and the confidence to speak with a variety of customers
- Strong listening skills and attention to detail
- The ability to multitask between conversations and computer systems
- Confidence following a structured call while still sounding natural and personable
- To be comfortable working in a small call centre type environment using a noise-cancelling headset
- To be able to work from the office daily
This is a temporary, part-time Customer Service Advisor position working Monday to Friday with fixed working hours between 18 and 27.5 hours per week, earning a salary of £13.00 per hour.
