Responsibilities of the Accountant role include:
- Preparing year end accounts for a varied client base
- Bookkeeping duties using cloud accounting software
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Assisting with payroll processing and related duties
- Supporting clients with general accounting queries
- Working closely with senior team members across a range of client work
- Providing practical support to owner managed businesses
Requirements of the Accountant role include:
- Previous experience working within UK accountancy practice
- Ideally 2–3+ years’ practice experience
- Experience preparing accounts, VAT returns and bookkeeping work
- Strong hands on and practical approach
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to learn and develop technically
- AAT or ACCA studies beneficial but not essential
- Experience with software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks desirable
