SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £95-£120 per day
Location: Harrogate
Flexible Opportunities: Day-to-day, part-time, full-time and long-term roles
Looking for a role where you can make a real difference every single day?
Castle Education is looking for caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support a welcoming and inclusive specialist school in Harrogate, working with children and young people aged 2-19 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
This is a fantastic opportunity to help pupils develop their confidence, communication, independence and life skills, whilst celebrating their individual achievements and helping them reach their full potential.
The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD) and physical disabilities. Every child has their own strengths, interests and needs, so we're looking for people who can bring patience, compassion, creativity and a positive attitude into the classroom.
What will you be doing?
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils feel safe, included and ready to learn. Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils with their learning, development and daily activities.
- Helping children communicate their needs, express themselves and build relationships.
- Providing individual or small-group support tailored to each pupil’s needs.
- Supporting pupils with autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs and physical disabilities.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
- Working closely with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
Who are we looking for?
You don't necessarily need previous experience in a specialist school. We would love to hear from you if you are passionate about supporting children and young people and have the right attitude to make a difference.
- An experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity.
- A Teaching Assistant with mainstream primary or secondary school experience.
- Someone with experience in care, residential support, youth work or supporting individuals with additional needs.
- Looking to develop your experience and build a rewarding career in education.
Above all, we're looking for people who are patient, adaptable, reliable and committed to helping every pupil feel valued.
