Quality Assurance Specialist
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2pm - 10pm
Contract: Permanent
Are you an experienced QA Technician looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a successful food manufacturing business?
We are recruiting for a QA Technician to join an established, family-owned manufacturing business based in Harrogate. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive team where quality, food safety and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything they do.
Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play an important role in maintaining high standards across production, ensuring products meet food safety regulations, customer expectations and BRCGS requirements.
This is a varied, hands-on position offering the opportunity to take ownership of quality processes, support audits and work closely with production teams to drive improvements.
What you'll be doing

Carrying out quality inspections and audits across manufacturing processes, equipment and finished products.

Ensuring compliance with BRCGS, food safety regulations and customer quality standards.

Maintaining and updating the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring documentation is accurate and compliant.

Investigating quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.

Working closely with production teams to maintain consistent quality standards and resolve issues.

Supporting internal, external and customer audits, including preparing documentation and reports.

Monitoring quality data, identifying trends and recommending improvements.

Delivering quality and compliance training to production colleagues.

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen food safety, efficiency and product quality.

Ensuring good manufacturing practices (GMP) are followed throughout the production process.
What we're looking for

Proven experience in a QA Technician, Quality Assurance or Technical Compliance role within food manufacturing.

Good working knowledge of BRCGS standards, food safety regulations and quality management systems.

Experience supporting quality audits, investigations and corrective actions.

Understanding of GMP and food safety principles.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.

Confidence working with production teams and communicating quality requirements.

A relevant qualification in Food Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel between sites.
