Are you a patient, caring and reliable individual looking for a rewarding full-time opportunity in education? We have an exciting opportunity to join an independent school in the heart of York, providing 1:1 support to a 16-year-old female student with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by helping a young person feel safe, supported and confident throughout their school day.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Accompanying the student between lessons while encouraging independence and maintaining an appropriate distance.
- Providing a calm, consistent and reassuring presence throughout the school day.
- Remaining available outside classrooms should additional support be needed.
- Supporting the student’s confidence, wellbeing and independence.
- Working collaboratively with the school’s pastoral and support teams.
Who Are We Looking For?
- Have experience supporting young people with ASC or additional needs.
- Are patient, understanding, compassionate and reliable.
- Can provide consistent support while promoting independence.
- Have excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive approach.
- Are committed to making a meaningful difference in a young person’s education.
Previous experience is desirable, but the right attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young people are equally important.
What’s in It for You?
- Fantastic full-time opportunity within a supportive independent school.
- Competitive rates of pay to recognise your skills and experience.
- Holiday pay included in your pay.
- No late-night work, supporting a better work-life balance.
