A well-established and growing accountancy practice is looking to strengthen its Elland team following continued growth and an increase in new client work. Responsibilities of the Accountant job include:
- Preparing full sets of year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
- Preparing corporation tax returns
- Preparing personal tax returns
- Managing your own workload and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
- Dealing directly with clients and responding to queries
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Taking ownership of client work from start to finish
- Supporting the wider team with general practice accountancy work
- Taking on greater responsibility for a portfolio of clients as your experience develops
Requirements of the Accountant job include:
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice
- Ideally AAT Level 4 qualified, although relevant experience will also be considered
- Experience preparing full sets of accounts independently
- Good knowledge of corporation and personal tax
- Strong general practice accountancy experience
- Experience working with a varied SME client base
- Confident communicating directly with clients
- Able to work independently and take ownership of your workload
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and genuine desire to develop within practice
The firm is deliberately not overly rigid on title or qualification and would consider candidates from a strong Accounts Senior/Semi Senior background through to more experienced accountants with client management or portfolio responsibility. For the right individual, there is also scope to develop towards a Client Manager-level position over time.
