Job Description
We're recruiting a Night Shift Manager for an established manufacturing business in the Bridlington area. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the night shift, ensuring production stays on plan while maintaining high standards across safety, quality and performance.
This could suit an experienced Production Manager, Shift Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Senior Production Supervisor from a steel, modular, fabrication or similar heavy manufacturing environment.
What you'll be doing
- Taking responsibility for production operations throughout the night shift
- Leading, motivating and supporting the production team
- Delivering daily production requirements and responding quickly when the plan is at risk
- Monitoring performance and addressing downtime and operational issues
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety across the shift
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet required specifications
- Ensuring machinery is operated safely and maintenance issues are escalated appropriately
- Managing performance, standards and expectations across the team
- Completing accurate production, quality and shift reporting
- Providing a clear handover to the day-shift management team
- Supporting continuous improvement across productivity, quality and efficiency
What we're looking for
You'll need previous experience leading people within a steel, modular or closely related manufacturing environment, with the confidence to take responsibility for a production shift.
We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:
- Strong shop-floor leadership and people management
- Experience working to production targets and deadlines
- Good understanding of manufacturing safety and quality standards
- Practical problem-solving when production doesn't go to plan
- Experience managing machinery downtime and escalating maintenance requirements
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Confidence making decisions during a shift
- Clear communication and effective shift handovers
Working Monday-Friday nights with enhanced overtime rates available.
Overtime may be required depending on production demands, so this opportunity could offer significant earning potential for somebody who is comfortable with additional hours.
