A successful and growing manufacturing business in East Yorkshire is looking to appoint an HR Advisor to join its established HR team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys building relationships across a business, supporting managers with people matters, and making a visible impact on employee experience.

Working closely with the HR Director and operational leaders, you will play a key role in delivering a proactive and people-focused HR service across the full employee lifecycle. The position offers genuine variety, combining employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, engagement initiatives, wellbeing activities, and learning and development support. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you will be trusted to take ownership, influence positive outcomes, and help drive a strong people culture.

Some of the HR Advisor responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters
  • Providing practical and commercially focused advice on employee relations issues including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, absence and investigations
  • Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and recognition initiatives across the business
  • Managing onboarding, inductions, probation reviews and new starter check-ins
  • Coordinating occupational health processes and employee wellbeing support
  • Supporting recruitment activity from advertising and screening through to onboarding
  • Maintaining accurate HR records, reporting and people data
  • Producing HR metrics and insights to support decision making and continuous improvement
  • Supporting learning and development initiatives, training coordination and skills development activities
  • Working closely with managers to promote best practice people management and a positive workplace culture

We would be keen to speak with HR professionals who have:

  • Previous experience within a HR Advisor, HR Officer or similar generalist HR position
  • Strong employee relations knowledge and confidence supporting managers with people issues
  • A sound understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, production, logistics or similarly fast-paced environment would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD would be beneficial
