The successful Scaffolding Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Designing specialist scaffolding and shoring systems for advanced temporary works projects across the UK.
- Supporting tender proposals, contributing to product development, and delivering design solutions in line with Eurocodes and NASC guidance.
- Collaborating with project engineers, site teams, and international technical offices to resolve engineering and safety-critical challenges.
- Visiting project sites occasionally to oversee implementation and ensure engineering integrity.
- Using structural analysis tools such as RSTAB, AutoCAD and design programs to produce accurate, optimised technical drawings.
- Supporting the national engineering team on special solution projects and mentoring junior engineers.
- Maintaining a focus on health and safety, programme schedules, and technical excellence throughout the design process.
We’re looking for a Scaffolding Design Engineer with:
- A degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (BSc minimum).
- Strong practical experience in the design of scaffolding and shoring systems, including familiarity with BS 5975 and Eurocodes.
- A solid grasp of AutoCAD and structural analysis tools (RSTAB experience highly advantageous).
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK health and safety standards.
- Previous experience working on temporary works or complex structural support designs within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Excellent attention to detail, collaborative working style, and a proactive attitude toward innovative design.
