We partner with SMEs across Yorkshire to deliver expert, commercially focused HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle. We're looking for a proactive and driven HR Consultant to join our busy team.

The role brings something new every day. From advising on recruitment or drafting documentation, guiding a client through performance issues, restructures, TUPE processes or complex exits. You will be providing clear, practical HR advice that businesses can trust. Building strong relationships and delivering the right support exactly when it’s needed.

Your role as HR Consultant:

  • Acting as a trusted HR partner to SME clients, delivering commercial, pragmatic, and solutions-focused HR advice.
  • Managing a diverse HR caseload, ensuring compliance with employment law while providing tailored support.
  • Advising on a range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, restructure, recruitment and retention.
  • Engaging with clients via phone, email, and video, with regular on-site visits.
  • Managing client accounts including contract renewal discussions – negotiation skills and commercial acumen will be key.

What we need:

  • HR experience with up to date knowledge of UK employment legislation and its practical application in business settings.
  • Experience at managing a variety and multiple HR issues from general and complex ER issues to recruitment and restructures and everything in between.
  • Confident Communicator: Able to advise senior leaders and managers clearly, calmly, and professionally.
  • A self-motivated and highly organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple issues and deliver.
  • Commercially minded and solution-focused understands both the client and business needs.
  • Client-focused, with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
  • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Skills & Experience:

  • CIPD level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience managing multiple workloads simultaneously.
  • Excellent understanding of current UK Employment Law.
  • Knowledge of HR software, ideally Breathe HR.
