We are recruiting for an experienced Shift Manager to join an established food manufacturing business in Wetherby, taking ownership of a permanent day shift.
Hours: 6am-6pm
Fixed Panama pattern:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead up to 6 Line Leaders and 25 Operatives, taking responsibility for people, production, safety, quality and overall shift performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the shift team
- Deliver production plans safely and efficiently
- Maintain food safety, quality and GMP standards
- Manage labour, resources and training requirements
- Monitor operational and production KPIs
- Investigate issues and support root cause analysis
- Drive improvements across processes, equipment and training
- Ensure products meet customer and technical requirements
What we're looking for:
- Shift Manager, Production Manager or similar manufacturing leadership experience
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong people management and communication skills
- Confident decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
- RCA and hazard analysis knowledge
- IOSH or equivalent
- HACCP, Food Safety and Allergen Awareness
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys being visible on the factory floor, developing teams and taking genuine ownership of shift performance.
Salary: £50,000-£65,000 depending on experience.
