Castle Employment Group is proud to be working in partnership with a respected organisation in North Yorkshire to recruit an experienced and proactive SHE Manager. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, providing operational support and leadership on SHE matters. With a strong presence across the organisation, this role balances operational engagement with objective guidance, promoting a robust safety culture and regulatory excellence.
The successful SHE Manager will be responsible for:
- Maintaining relevant accreditations and ensuring legal compliance across SHE operations.
- Managing and mentoring SHE Advisors, fostering professional growth and consistency.
- Building strong relationships across all levels of the organisation to promote SHE awareness.
- Conducting structured site and factory visits in accordance with established procedures.
- Leading investigations into incidents, identifying root causes, and overseeing corrective actions.
- Preparing detailed monthly reports for senior leadership and SHE stakeholders.
- Monitoring safety performance metrics to identify opportunities for development and improvement.
- Delivering educational initiatives to embed SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) principles across teams.
We’re looking for a SHE Manager who has:
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health.
- IEMA qualification in Environmental Management.
- Certification and experience in ISO auditing.
- At least 5 years' experience in a SHE-focused role, including 3 years in a management capacity (preferred).
- Background in heavy manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Strong behavioural safety experience, with the ability to influence, engage, and support cultural change.
- A curious, proactive mindset and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong internal relationships.
