We are recruiting SEN Nursery Assistants to join a supportive nursery group with multiple sites across York, Acomb, Helmsley, and Kirkbymoorside. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children with special educational needs, disabilities, and high needs, supporting them through sensory play, development activities, and tailored care. With flexible shifts across multiple sites, this role is ideal for anyone seeking part-time, full-time, or ad hoc work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting children with SEN, disabilities, and additional needs in nursery settings
- Planning and assisting with sensory and developmental play activities
- Supporting emotional, social, and communication development
- Assisting with personal care routines (feeding, nappy changing, toileting) when required
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
- Adapting to different nursery sites and teams across York and surrounding areas
- Building positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
