We are recruiting Mechanical Assemblers to join an established manufacturing business in Scarborough. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive production environment where training and development are taken seriously, with a clear route towards a permanent position. The business specialises in the manufacture of modular steel frame solutions and has built a strong reputation within its sector. You will join a hands-on manufacturing team where quality, teamwork and doing the job safely are important.
What you'll be doing:
- Assembling components using hand and power tools
- Following engineering drawings and assembly instructions
- Completing work accurately and to the required quality standards
- Carrying out quality checks throughout the assembly process
- Keeping your work area safe, clean and organised
- Working alongside the wider production team to meet manufacturing targets
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Confidence using a range of hand and power tools
- A practical, hands-on approach to assembly work
- Experience reading engineering drawings or working in mechanical assembly would be an advantage, but these skills can be developed through training.
The starting rate for this Mechanical Assembler position is £12.95 per hour. There is clear pay progression as you develop within the role:
- £12.95 per hour starting rate
- £13.80 per hour after 12 weeks when offered a permanent contract
- £14.92 per hour once fully trained
- Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours, available once fully trained
You’ll work:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm
- Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm
That means an early finish every Friday.
