You’ll play a key role in maintaining quality standards across in-house manufacturing and key supplier sites - perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on inspection, technical problem-solving and working closely with engineering teams.

The Role
As Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll carry out inspections both on-site and at supplier locations (including Aberdeen, Birmingham and other UK sites), ensuring components, assemblies and fabricated parts meet required specifications. Your work will support ROV manufacturing projects, quality documentation, and supplier performance. Day-to-day, you will:
- Carry out mechanical, machining and weld inspections against engineering drawings and specifications
- Inspect fabricated and machined components both on-site and at supplier facilities, completing dimensional reports and supporting engineering change control
- Perform mechanical inspections, paint shop checks, weld inspections, thickness measurements and visual assessments
- Build and maintain certification packs, route cards, test reports and calibration documentation
- Support vendor quality management and contribute to NCRs, CAPA actions and continuous improvement activities
- Make recommendations for process improvements and ensure high housekeeping and compliance standards across all stages of inspection
About You
You’ll bring solid experience in mechanical inspection within a manufacturing setting, strong documentation skills, and the confidence to work independently at supplier sites. You’ll be proactive, organised, and comfortable communicating with production, engineering and supply chain teams. You’ll need:
- ISO Auditor qualification
- Experience with ISO9001, ISO45001 or ISO14001 frameworks
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret technical specifications
- Experience using inspection tools such as vernier callipers and micrometres
- Familiarity with project quality requirements (ITPs, quality plans etc.)
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK as required
- Subsea ROV experience
