Overview
The Role We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant for an established company based near Thirsk. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing and ordering of packaging, raw materials, and management of consumable stocks
- Managing supplier invoice queries
- Processing order acknowledgements, delivery notes, and purchase orders
- Preparing and managing export documentation
- Arranging the handling and delivery of raw materials
- Producing reports as required
- Assisting with stock control, including stock takes and reconciliation
- Negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers
- Maintaining and updating the approved supplier list
- Booking in and out raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within purchasing or supply chain
- Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capability to prioritise effectively and perform under pressure
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and drive change and improvements to deliver results
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach to supporting internal stakeholders
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
