Job Description: Project Manager

Overview
My client are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee projects within the food retail sector on a nationwide scale. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure the successful execution of construction projects, from inception to completion, while maintaining deep client engagement. Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of construction projects related to food retail, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Lead project planning sessions and assess milestones to track project progress toward defined goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client-facing interactions, developing strong relationships to understand their needs and objectives.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, engineers, and vendors.
  • Drive compliance with legal regulations and company policies across all projects.
  • Identify and mitigate risks through proactive planning and problem-solving.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, progress reports, and budget tracking.
  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives within projects, fostering equitable practices between subcontractors.
  • Travel nationwide to visit project sites and engage directly with on-site teams and clients.

Day-to-day

  • Manage ongoing communication with clients, including regular updates, addressing concerns, and aligning on project goals.
  • Coordinate daily operations of on-site teams, ensuring adequate resources are available.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project progress, problem-solve, and promote employee safety protocols.
  • Actively monitor and adjust timelines, costs, and risks to meet project expectations.
  • Lead internal and external stakeholder meetings to review project milestones and key deliverables.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

Qualifications Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager or in a related role, preferably within the food retail industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and site safety.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong client-facing focus.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Asbestos Awareness

Preferred:

  • A Bachelor\’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Experience working on projects across multiple geographical locations.
  • A commitment to sustainability in construction practices and materials.
